It's amazing how something so small can save you a lot of money.  I'm sure you've seen them all around.  The Compact Fluorescent light bulb seems to have taken over!  But that can be a good thing. 

Did you know:
-'Energy Star' Compact Fluorescent bulbs use close to 75% less energy than a regular bulb?  That means it can last up to 10 times longer!
-You can save about $30 or more on your electricity costs over each of the bulb's lifetime?
-They are a 'cool' bulb...meaning they produce 75% less heat.  You know how hot regular bulbs can get.
-There are so many shapes and sizes available...you can just about change over every bulb in your home.  They even make them to look like old incandescent bulbs!

The Compact Fluorescent comes in many different sizes...but they also have different behaviors.  Some turn on instantly when you flip the switch.  Some gradually get brighter and get to full light after about a minute or so (these are perfect for the bathroom).  You can get them small enough to fit in your 'over stove' light too.  The only kind you won't find (yet) is one that will work with a dimmer.  I think they have one that is more like a flood light for outdoors and I bet you'll be able to find more soon.



I've already changed out all of my lights and they work great.  I did see a drop in my electric bill too.  So my advice to you is to spend a little more up front for the bulb....and save more money in the long run.  The prices are dropping for these bulbs so you can find lots of great deals.
